A
Home for Jump!
We are proud to announce the
location of our first child-inspired
facility at 837 Beatty St.
“When I saw the
space, I knew immediately that my vision
would work here” says Jump! founder Jennifer Hood. “We’re creating a
‘boutique’ gym where the space compliments our individualized,
family-centered
approach to physical development. Children learn best when they feel
confident,
so it’s important that they are comfortable in their
environment”.
The gym is
large enough to present limitless potential to a
young child, but small enough for them to feel ownership
of the space. It will feature bright but calming colours to balance the
stimulation of physical activity, natural alcove spaces allowing kids
to focus
on their current activity and a full range of top quality gymnastics
apparatus.
And, because it
is not just about the kids…we’ll have a
beautiful space, with exposed brick walls and French
doors overlooking the gym, where parents can relax.
It still needs a bit (ie/ a lot), of spit,
polish and new paint to turn 837 Beatty Street into the thing of beauty
it
will
become, but when we have pictures of
its ‘new look’ you’ll see them here first.
In the meantime

new home….

Put a little Jump!
in your Leapfrog’s life
We’re counting
on one of those long, amazing summers where
you don’t even question that you’re going to wake up to sunshine each
morning.
So here are a few activities for you and your Leapfrog to do outside in
the
sunshine.
Play
in the Park –
Inspired by Silken Laumann’s ActiveKids Movement, a number of Vancouver
neighbourhoods have started kids and parents unstructured play evenings
at
their local park. Contact SAM to
find one in your neighbourhood, or for help in starting your own.
Splish
splash in the Sun –
Vancouver has five beautiful outdoor pools where
families can splash
and swim to their hearts content. Swimming, like gymnastics, helps
children
develop fundamental
physical attributes.
Kids
on Tour – Vancouver
has a plethora of playgrounds. Why not take a tour,
checking
out a new one each week. One of our personal favourites for toddlers
and young
children is in Jump!’s new ‘hood. David Lam Park has two separate play
structures
targeted at different age groups and climbing abilities.
And check out yoyomama for a weekly
list of family friendly activities
around Vancouver.
